c5c6fea75a Following up on our work using Street View to conduct virtual street audits (1, 2, 3), we used theCANVAS system to collect data on built environment characteristics at street intersections with varying numbers of pedestrian injuries. The filters were shown in 2011 to measurably reduce black carbon particle concentrations in the rail cars, which was good to see. Furthermore our work in NYC finds that variation in residential neighborhood walkability is more strongly associated with physical activity than is variation in residential neighborhood access to parks.
